Frame Of 21 Medieval Bronze Belt Decorations - 13th-15th Century - Fleur De Lys

Charming little frame bringing together a collection of 21 medieval copper-alloy belt appliques, dating between the 13th and 15th centuries.

These decorative elements were once attached to leather or silk belts and testify to the refinement of medieval sartorial adornment. The set mainly comprises openwork fleur-de-lis, fleur-de-lis inscribed in lozenges, several floral motifs as well as a rare representation of a bird.

The sconces feature beautiful antique dark green patinas and offer an interesting insight into medieval civil ornamentation. They are currently arranged on cardboard and presented in a frame with a red velvet border. The elements are simply glued and can be detached if the purchaser wishes to study them or present them otherwise.
