Medieval Spanish Heraldic Floor Tile – Manises, 15th Century – Centelles Family

Medieval Spanish heraldic floor tile – Manises, 15th century – Centelles family

Rare tin-glazed earthenware floor tile from the famous workshops of Manises (Kingdom of Valencia), dating from the second half of the 15th century.

Decorated in blue and white, typical of Manises productions from this period, it features in its center a coat of arms “diamond-shaped in gold and gules,” corresponding to the arms of the illustrious Catalan Centelles family, established in the Barcelona region.

Heraldic tiles of this quality, reflecting the tastes of the Iberian nobility in the late Middle Ages, are now rare on the market. They are particularly sought-after items by both enthusiasts of medieval Spanish ceramics and collectors of heraldry.

Condition: tile found in three fragments that were previously glued back together, with several visible chips, consistent with its age. These imperfections do not detract from its historical and decorative value.

Dimensions: 14 x 14 cm.

An authentic piece evocative of medieval Spain, ideal for completing a collection of antique ceramics, heraldic objects, or Iberian Gothic art.
