An Anglo-saxon Bronze Enameled Cloisonné Brooch 10th-11th Century Ad
A beautiful gilded bronze disc brooch from the 10th to the 11th century A.D. with seven radiating lobes or legsto the rim; each handle with a blue, black and white enamel insert(one partly remaining and one missing); main body divided into six, all filled withfilled with blue and green enamel.The cloisonné technique uses compartments constructed from wirethen filled with colored powdered "glass" and fired.
