Rare and elegant small vessels in Islamic glassware, known as qumqum in Arabic, produced in Syria or Egypt between the late 12th and first half of the 13th century, the nascent Mamluk period.

These delicate flasks were intended to contain precious perfumes. They are characterized by a flattened globular body, a long, extremely narrow neck designed to limit evaporation, and two small side handles.

The example presented here stands out for its remarkable state of preservation: it is exceptionally intact considering the great fragility of this type of medieval glassware. The surface has a beautiful patina, with slightly iridescent nuances, testifying to its age and prolonged burial.
