Medieval Globular Jug Made Of Gray Clay With Pinched Feet — Zeeland — 14th Century, Gothic
Rare medieval jug made of dark gray clay, produced in Zeeland, in what is now the Netherlands, in the 14th century.
It features an elegant globular shape, topped by a high rim, and is fitted with a circular-section handle. The base is characteristic, with finger-pinch feet—a detail that helps identify this Flemish production from Zeeland.
Archaeologically complete, this jug retains a striking presence and serves as an interesting example of medieval ceramic production in the former Netherlands. Its relatively uncommon typology makes it a particularly interesting object for collectors of archaeological and medieval ceramics.
The piece comes from a former Dutch collection.
Condition: archaeologically complete. Several small chips are present, notably two chips on the rim and three perforations on the body. Signs of wear and irregularities due to its age and archaeological context.
Height: 21 cm.
