Bartmann Beer Jug In Bellarmine Stoneware From The 17th Century Yellow/light Brown Tiger
A magnificent and large Bellarminer pitcher from Germany. Made of stoneware, it likely comes from Frechen. The light brown and yellow tiger decoration is quite rare. It also features a large mask and three impressed hearts. It can be dated between 1650 and 1680. Three small surface imperfections are visible, probably due to insufficient cleaning of the clay. One of them is located to the left of the handle. No restoration or repair has been carried out. I also appreciate the detail of the handle, where fingerprints are visible. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
