French Anix 1813 Flintlock Cavalry Carbine
French AN IX model flintlock cavalry carbine. 76 cm round, smoothbore steel barrel, engraved “Mle An 9,” with an inspector’s mark and the date “DB 1813.” The trigger guard is sturdy and bears the manufacturer’s mark “Maubeuge Manuf Impl.” A large sling swivel is located on the side opposite the trigger guard. Brass and steel fittings with various inspector’s marks, as well as a unit mark “GV” on the breech block. Walnut stock with equipment markings (details worn) and original steel rib. The metal parts have been cleaned and restored; the trigger guard may have been re-engraved. A very fine example in good condition.
