French Anxi-model Cuirassier Saber
ANIX cuirassier saber from the First French Empire. Regulation brass guard and pommel with four bars, bearing worn inspection marks on the guard and an “L” on the outside of the guard, for F.L. Lobstein of Klingenthal. The wooden handle retains its leather wrapping, which shows slight shrinkage and cracks; the binding cord is now missing. Classic double-grooved steel blade, 94 cm long, with a spear-point tip. The “AP” inspection mark for Atelier de Précision is clearly visible. An authentic example with some marks on the guard and stains on the blade.
