Object description :

"German Rapier Sword Circa 1600"
German made Rapier sword with double edged tapered blade showing fuller running approximately one third of the blade. The blade is marked with “Me Fecit Solignen” and shows traces of other engraved decoration. The iron hilt has pierced guard with swept quillons and tri-bar knuckle guard terminating to a hexagonal style pommel. The wooden grip is intricatley wire wrapped with two wire “turk’s head” knots finishing both ends. Circa 1600-20
