English Denbighshire Yeomanry Cavalry Jacket, 1800
Georgian period, officer's cavalry jacket of the Royal Denbighshire Yeomanry Cavalry. Made in a Rifle regiment style, having a bottle green body with black velvet facings, large sloping styles collar designed to be worn open (collar showing a small tear). The front has three rows of a total of 64 silver ball buttons showing the Royal Crown which is surrounded by the initials "RDYC". Both shoulders adorn two chain linked winged epaulettes which also support two buttons towards the collar. The rear has two pleated bolsters towards the waist line, these have a further two button. Interior is lined with a heavy white cotton. Showing some repairs and moth damage, but overall a nice early yeomanry jacket. Circa 1800
