Pair Of French Infantry Bronzes By H. Dumiage
Pair of Bronze figures depicting a French Revolutionary period, Infantry officer and Infantry drummer. Both are signed showing the artist Etienne-Henri Dumaige. The first depicts an officer smoking a pipe with his musket resting upon his shoulder (bayonet shows bending). A small plaque is mounted to the base reading ‘Après le Combat Grenadier de 1792 par Dumaige HC’. The other depicts an infantry drummer holding his drum on his side and also having the plaque reading ‘Avant le Combat Volontaire de 1792 par Dumaige HC’. Both standing apprximatley 46cm tall and weighing nearly 9kg each.
