French Naval Officers, First Empire Saber
French First Empire period, naval officers sword. Brass hilt with Consulate, “melon” style pommel and black ebony chequered grip. Single knuckle-bow with front langet showing a fouled anchor, opposite side is plain. Double fullered blade showing engraved floral decoration approximately half way down the blade. In quite worn condition, but still a scarce sword.
