Pistolet Garde Du Corps Du Roi 1816 Model
Model 2 flintlock pistol from 1816, from the Garde du Corps du Roi. Lock engraved "M. Royal de Versailles" with control stamp above, in perfect working order. 14-gauge steel barrel, proof stamped on the breech side, approximately 35 cm long. Original steel loading rod. Regulation brass stock and fittings, with a large domed buttplate. This originally bore three fleur-de-lys, removed when the bodyguard left the royal court. A very rare pistol in good condition.
