Pair Of French Infantry Bronzes By H. Dumiage
A pair of bronze statuettes depicting an officer and an infantry drummer during the French Revolution. Signed by the artist Étienne-Henri Dumaige, they represent an officer smoking a pipe, his rifle resting on his shoulder (the bayonet is folded). A small plaque affixed to the base bears the inscription "After the Grenadier Combat of 1792 by Dumaige HC". The second statuette depicts an infantry drummer holding his drum at his hip and also bears the plaque "Before the Voluntary Combat of 1792 by Dumaige HC". They measure approximately 46 cm high and weigh nearly 9 kg each. Note – Étienne-Henri Dumaige 1830–1888
