Naval Officer's Dagger From The French Restoration
French Restoration-era naval officer's dagger. A fine example with a fluted mother-of-pearl handle and a brass guard adorned with two dolphins and an anchor on a central panel. The pommel depicts the head of the goddess Amphitrite. The double-edged steel blade measures 18.5 cm and may have been repolished. The original brass scabbard is engraved on the front with a trident, an anchor, and floral motifs. In very good overall condition, despite slight play in the guard.
