Spanish percussion saddle pistol - Spain, Eibar, dated 1850. Octagonal barrel with gilt lettering on the top: "Fabricado por Antonio Alberdi Ano 1850" (Made by Antonio Alberdi, Year 1850). Antonio Alberdi was a well-known Basque gunsmith from the town of Eibar in the first half of the 19th century. This pistol, dated 1850, is one of his later productions. Functional mechanism; the hammer holds both notches, and the percussion is crisp and powerful. Minor restoration to the wood at the end of the forend near the muzzle on the lock side. Weight: 742g. Length: 31cm. Barrel length: 17cm. Muzzle diameter: 17mm.
