Felt Kepi Horizon Blue French 1914, First World War
First World War French kepi, model 1914, in horizon blue felt, consisting of two parts: the body and the visor. Production began in late 1914. This is an artillery model, with buttons on either side of the chinstrap. Manufactured for a short period, it was not weather- and wear-resistant, which explains the very low number of surviving examples, whatever their condition. This one is in its original condition and entirely original. The name "Lafon" is inscribed under the visor.
