An elegant Qashqai kilim from Iran, traditionally woven using the wool-on-wool technique.

The weave, which is particularly fine, tight, and precise, attests to the remarkable craftsmanship of the Qashqai weavers. The perfectly balanced composition features a geometric vocabulary characteristic of these nomadic pieces, with a beautiful freedom in the rhythm and arrangement of the motifs.
The central field features six rows of three polychrome scorpions—there’s no need to fear them; their presence is meant to offer protection! 

The color palette is particularly appealing. One will especially appreciate the depth of the central purple field—a rich, warm hue—around which the various shades of the design come to life. This color selection lends the piece a strong presence and harmony.

A highly graphic and decorative piece, whose relatively compact size allows it to blend easily into both contemporary and more traditional interiors.
