A beautiful Khamiya from Morocco. This precious item has just undergone an expert appraisal. We learned several interesting things from it. It is actually a fragment. The piece was likely altered to make a cushion, judging by its size, the seams, and the opening on the back.
Originally, this type of piece measures approximately 2 meters long by 80 cm wide. Only the lower portion is embroidered, usually with floral motifs. It is most often monochromatic, featuring different shades of the same color. This is what makes this object unique—its diversity of colors and rich palette.
It is made of raw silk. The ultra-fine fabric features a series of refined floral motifs that shimmer in the light. The front is hand-embroidered and displays a very rich composition of multicolored floral motifs.
The hues are luminous and deep, creating perfect harmony. This piece exudes refinement.
I think this is a piece worth framing.
Excellent condition; there is only a small missing section on one of the lower, mesh-like woven parts.
