Circa 1920-1950 India for export to Europe Table mat or hanging in champagne silk satin densely embroidered with applied gold thread, using the Indian Zari technique. Decorated with a large central medallion framed by boteh and paisley motifs, highlighted with green, orange, red and blue silk embroidery. Unlined piece revealing a glazed cotton canvas, support for embroidery. A few rare pulled threads but clean piece without major defects. Very good state of color and conservation.
