Part of a hanging or facing in yellow silk skillfully embroidered with silver blades, dating from the early 19th century. Remarkable cord embroidery rolled with silver blades and cannetilles forming a geometric design. Central field of lozenges filled with flowers and pistils embroidered with sequins and silver paillons. Four spandrels and rows of friezes and wavy borders at the ends. This hanging has five superimposed layers, ensuring rigidity and good hold: two layers of yellow silk, one layer of yellow cotton and layers of paper inside! Slight damage and missing paillons to the highly skilled embroidery. Slight dusting and oxidation of silver blades, no other defects. Good overall condition.
