Circa 1790-1800 France or Europe Elegant pair of wine burgundy leather city shoes dating from the end of the 18th century. Pointed toe vamp and small spool heel, typical of the fashion of this period. Interior lining of light brown chintz with drawstring and orange silk piping. Cracks in the burgundy leather and damage to the heel of a shoe with a loose string. Average state of conservation but original, unmodified piece. Rare piece. Dimensions: Length 23 cm, heel height 4.5 cm, vamp 12 cm.
