Mahal Persian Gallery Rug 310x105 Cm
Mahal hallway rug Circa 1940.
Mahal rugs are made in the west-central part of Iran, in the Saroukh region. These rugs are made with a number of different designs, but they often have a medallion placed in their center and a well-defined frame, elements through which we can recognize a clear inspiration from British colonial forces during the 19th century. Mahal rugs are very durable.
This Mahal runner rug sits on a deep red background. It is dressed in various colorful patterns.. green, blue and orange intertwine to create a symmetrical pattern. The flowers are cleverly braided in a zigzag pattern. The central medallion is elegant and eclectic.
Dimensions : 310x105 cm
Condition : Good, frayed fringes
