French First Empire 'garde De Bataille' Sword
French First Empire 'Garde de Bataille' dragoon officers sword. Typical shell guard design with fully wire bound covered grip. A large, doubled fullered straight blade leading to a hatchet point tip, blade being firm to the grip. Original black leather scabbard with brass mount and two heavy suspension rings. Blade measuring approximately 97cm long, overall length 114cm long. No visible marking, a very good example.
