General's staff sword from the First Empire with a blade signed by Antonio Ruiz in Toledo, 18th century. The 18th-century blade is signed by Antonio Ruiz in Toledo within the fuller. The blade has a central flat with a fuller at the ricasso and measures 16.5 cm. The hilt is made of chased gilt brass with a pommel adorned with a chased foliate wreath and a pommel button. The pommel is slightly inclined forward and extended towards the grip by a trapezoidal collar chased with a winged thunderbolt. The knuckle guard has a single branch with fine foliate chase. The asymmetrical guard has a wide, well-defined volute on the right. The guard is curved with a reduced counter-guard. The central motif of the guard consists of a cuirass, a dragon, a sword, a halberd, a pike, a shield, and an antique helmet. There is no scabbard. The grip is made of Ebony, checkered and vertically grooved. Length: 90 cm. Blade length: 74 cm. Blade width at the ricasso: 1.8 cm.
