Luxurious reward saber awarded to citizen Oudet by the 68th half-brigade known as the Turkish way, returning from the Egyptian expedition, Directoire period, five similar copies were made to reward the generals present at Bonaparte's side at the Marengo day on June 14, 1800, the style of this sumptuous mount known as the Marengo in chiseled and gilded brass known from the variants established later as a national reward until the Empire (1804). Crossguard with inverted quillons in the shape of wolf heads, earpiece with a radiant sun, checkered ebony fuse inlaid with medallions in the shape of a shield, cap in the shape of a fantastic animal called a sea dog joined by a chain. Slightly curved blade with a round back and counter-edged, gold damascened at the heel with remains of attenuated inscription which despite the oxidation allows the recipient to be identified. Wooden scabbard covered with blackened leather, probably later, four brass fittings chiseled with acanthus leaves in relief and gilded following the mount, chape with ear-shaped opening, iron dart.
