LUXURY SABER SIGNED BOUTET IN VERSAILLES, Directory - First Empire. Burnished and marbled steel mount. Single-branch guard pierced with a diamond-shaped cross-hatch and palmettes, ending at the top with a large openwork palmette attached to the cap., body knot with two large ovoid earpieces, fluted button-shaped quillon. Cap with short tail. Ebony hilt finely carved with ribbons imitating fluting separating small raised diamonds. Curved blade with hollow sides, length 78.4 cm, width at the heel 2.8 cm; it is engraved and gilded on its first third with military and floral trophies, with a blued background; back signed "Pierre Guillaume Knecht, manufacturer in Solingen". Burnished steel scabbard, cup entry highlighted by a molding with a small ring on the inside edge of the scabbard. Two geometrically decorated bail bracelets with pitons and rings in burnished steel, gadrooned rivet, the back of the scabbard is signed in the upper part "Boutet / Artist Director / Manufre / in Versailles".
