A royal Burmese Buddha statue carved from solid teak, originating from Mandalay in Burma (Myanmar) and dating from the late 19th to the early 20th century. The figure is seated in the bhumisparsha mudra, the gesture of calling the earth to witness. It features thit-si lacquer decoration, thayo reliefs, gold leaf, and thousands of mirror and glass inlays.
