Wooden netsuke depicting a Hotei mask depicted with his blissful smile, and a more unusual urna, that is to say a spiral on his forehead symbolizing the third eye and the ability to see beyond the physical world.

Signed on the reverse "Deme Uman" at the level of the mask attachment, and "Tenka ichi" on the reverse of the forehead of the deity. This last signature is usual within the creations of the Deme family and attests to the quality of their works.
