A monumental green Tara statue in fire-gilded bronze, from the Kathmandu Valley in Nepal and dating from the 19th century. This depiction of Shyama Tara follows the Newar tradition: seated in the royal relaxation posture, with the right hand in the varada mudra and the left hand holding a lotus. The cast bronze shows traces of fire-gilding and an antique patina. The surface shows wear, abrasions, and localized losses consistent with its age; the piece is in an antique condition, with no reported cosmetic restoration. Dimensions: height 78 cm, width 27 cm.
