American Colt Navy Model 1851 Revolver – Circa 1858

Welcome to my store. I am offering this authentic American Colt Navy Model 1851 percussion revolver, manufactured around 1858.

This classic black-powder revolver features a six-chamber cylinder, a long octagonal barrel, and the characteristic loading lever located beneath the barrel. Much of the original Colt address remains legible on the top of the barrel:

“ADDRESS COL. SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA”

Both the barrel and the center frame bear the same serial number: 83161. The trigger guard likely bears the different number 10212 and appears to have been replaced during a previous repair. The metal frame of the grip also shows a clearly visible old repair.

Due to wear and surface corrosion, no numbers are currently visible on the cylinder. The naval battle scene that originally adorned the cylinder has also almost entirely disappeared.

The revolver is in an aged and heavily used condition, showing patina, wear, and pitting corrosion. The mechanism is not fully functional: the hammer can be cocked, but the cylinder does not always rotate when the hammer is cocked. It is therefore being sold as a non-functional historical collectible, with no guarantee regarding its mechanical operation.
