Officer's Revolver Mle 1874
Officer's revolver caliber 11 mm Model 1874, from the Manufacture d'Armes de St Etienne, built in 35,000 examples between 1874 and 1887. It differs from the Model 1873 troop revolver in that it is lighter overall, black-tanned and shorter in size. It was widely used during the First World War and was still equipping reserve units in 1940.
The model presented, in excellent condition, is in its original tan and retains the regulation coloring of the door hammer and trigger. All parts are to the same number (N 6250). Mechanical condition is impeccable, both single-action and double-action. The inside of the barrel is correct.
Right side of the barrel marked S 1876, left side bearing the hallmarks M in a circle of General Maignien, Director of the MAS from 1873 to 1882, and J in a circle of the Contrôleur Général Principal de l'arme finie Jeuffroy, top of the barrel engraved Mle 1874.
