The grip is made of finely checkered blackened wood. The pommel is shaped like a lion's head. The crossguard, reminiscent of the southern star, is decorated in its center with a rosette. The pommel and crossguard are linked by an ornate chain.
The narrow, highly curved blade is inspired by Mamluk sabers. It is decorated on both sides with a gilt cartouche.
The scabbard is made of black shagreen. On the front, the stitching is made of braided metal thread. The chape and locket are engraved with friezes, rosettes, and acanthus leaves on the guard side. On the counter-guard, these fittings are plain, simply bordered with friezes. The suspension rings are shaped like large cabochons with floral decoration on a matte background.
This saber is a very luxurious item. It has retained all of its gilding.
