Pair Of 18th Century Officer's Pistols

Long pair  pommel pistols from the early 18th century, circa 1730.
Round barrels with a top face, slightly blunderbussed at the muzzle, profusely engraved with hollow-bottomed foliage and thunderbolts. Gilded breech tails forming a rise. Gilded sights. Muzzles decorated with volutes.
Gilded flintlocks engraved with hollow-bottomed animals and figures. Gilded faceted bassinets and spark arresters. Burnished steel batteries and hammers engraved with hollow-bottomed volutes.
Blond walnut mounts, with long barrels, carved around all the recesses. Gilded caps with long ears engraved with hollow-bottomed faces and volutes. Cap screws hidden by a button in the shape of a lion's muzzle. Openwork counterplate. Gilded Charolais trigger guards decorated with trophies. Gilded ramrod loops. Wooden ramrods with horn tips. Gilded thumb pieces bearing the owner's monogram "TC".
These pistols, unsigned, are of very fine workmanship. They are in very good condition and have retained 90% of their gilding.
