Service Revolver Model 1873
11mm caliber service revolver, Model 1873.
All parts are numbered G 47799 (G corresponding to 1877, the year 36,875 weapons were manufactured), and the screws bear the corresponding short number G 99.
The year of manufacture is marked on the right side of the barrel: S 1877, S for Saint-Étienne.
The top of the barrel is engraved Mle 1873.
On the left side of the barrel is the hallmark M in a circle of General Maignien, Director of the Manufacture from 1873 to 1882, and the J of Chief Inspector Jeffroy.
On the right side of the frame is engraved "Mre de St Etienne" and the M for maintenance above the grip panel. This revolver is in firing condition.
The hammer and trigger still bear traces of their original straw-yellow color.
The cylinder is perfectly indexed. It functions perfectly in both single and double action. The scratches are perfectly clean.
