Portrait of Pierre Alexandre Machelard in the uniform of an Officer of the Horse Hunters of the Imperial Guard.
He is represented in bust, bare head, in full attire: green dolman, scarlet pelisse edged with white fur, golden buttons and braids.
He wears the Legion of Honor pinned on his pelisse.
Gilded frame with the more recent invoice sheet.
The back has a label reading "Mr Machelard" and three consolidation tablets in the upper left corner.
Pierre Alexandre Machelard: born June 24, 1783 in Briis-sous-Forges, admitted to the Chasseurs à Cheval de la Garde on November 5, 1809. Decorated with the Legion of Honor on September 28, 1813, served as second lieutenant in the 9th Chasseurs à Cheval de la Garde on Horse on March 21, 1814. Did the campaigns of the year 12, 13, 14, 1806, 1809, 1812, 1813, 1814. Wounded by a bullet in the right arm at the Hanau affair (Base Léonore rating LH/ 1681/14).
