Art Deco Two-light Bronze Candlestick Featuring A Female Figure, Attributed To The Wiener Werkstätte
Welcome to my shop.
An elegant bronze candlestick depicting a stylized female figure holding two fluted candleholders in her outstretched hands. Each candleholder is fitted with small metal rods to hold the candles. The woman, with short, bobbed hair, is bare-chested and wears a pleated skirt. Her slender silhouette and the angular position of her arms give the piece a particularly decorative character.
The figure rests on an ornamental tripod with curved legs and pointed, leaf-shaped intermediate elements. The style of the sculpture—and particularly the shape of this base—is reminiscent of that of Dagobert Peche. It is therefore possible, though unconfirmed, that the piece originated with Peche or the Wiener Werkstätte. No markings or signature are visible.
The material is bronze. The surface has a warm golden luster, with localized patina and signs of wear.
Height: 19.5 cm.
Width: 13.2 cm.
Weight: 398 grams.
Thank you for visiting! Best regards, Ben.
