"Graphoscope Or 19th Century Enlarger"
Here is a 19th-century graphoscope, or enlarger. This device was invented and patented in 1864 by Charles John Rowsell. It was used to improve the viewing of photographs. It features a folding magnifying glass and a photo holder and is a vintage collector's item. In good condition, with two minor imperfections. The magnifying glass has a burn hole; therefore, be careful not to expose it to direct sunlight. This hole can be repaired, but it also adds to its period charm. The upper clasp on the case is broken. Two detailed photos are included.
