Royal Worcester Richard Sebright Painted Fruit Cabinet Plate, England, 1911

Produced by the Royal Worcester Porcelain Company and bearing the date code for 1911, this refined cabinet plate is hand-painted and signed by the celebrated fruit painter Richard Sebright. The underside retains the original Bonhams auction label, providing documented auction provenance.

The central reserve depicts two ripe apples and a graceful vine branch, painted in luminous translucent enamels with exceptional depth and naturalistic colour. The elegant Pattern W8346 border combines a warm yellow ground with richly burnished hand-applied gilding, raised jewelled ornament and intricate scrolling foliate decoration, reflecting the superb craftsmanship of Royal Worcester during the Edwardian period.

Richard Sebright is officially recognised as the greatest fruit painter in the history of Royal Worcester. His finest signed cabinet plates are regarded as museum-quality works and continue to rank among the most desirable examples of the factory's celebrated Painted Fruit production.

The underside bears the official Royal Worcester factory backstamp with the date code for 1911, pattern number W8346 and the original hand-painted factory workman's mark.

Condition:

Excellent original cabinet condition. Fine age-related craquelure is visible only under magnification within the enamel. The hand-painted fruit decoration, enamels and gilded ornament remain exceptionally well preserved. Examined under UV light, no evidence of restoration or repairs was detected.
