Object description :

"Rare Large Pair Of German Porcelain Figures, 18th Century"
An exceptional pair oflarge-scale porcelain figures from the late 18th century, distinguished bytheir refined modelling, fine hand painting, and historical rarity. Each figurestands nearly 40 cm tall and exhibits remarkable sculptural quality, particularly in the expressive faces, detailed drapery, and naturalisticposture.                                                                                                                  The original factory mark was deliberately removed - likely due toexport restrictions or commercial strategy — and replaced with an underglazeblue sign that is not associated with any documented manufactory. The mark doesnot appear in standard references such as Röntgen or Berling, and itsapplication suggests intentional masking. Notably, the base of the male figureincludes a firing crack, a kiln flaw typical for the 18th-century productionperiod.   After extensive comparativeresearch, these figures are stylistically closest to Ludwigsburg, Fürstenberg,or Frankenthal manufactories. Their sculptural bases, porcelain composition, and detailing support an attribution to a leading German workshop c. 1790–1800.Such large and well-preserved figures from this period are extremelyscarce.                                                               This is a rare opportunity to acquire a museum-quality pair of Germanporcelain figures with exceptional sculptural presence and refined execution.Dimensions andCondition:Gentleman – height 38cm, width 19 cm, depth 15 cm, weight 2207 g.Condition: small chipon cuff, minor gilding wear, firing crack on the base.
