Pair Of Large Sitzendorf Figural Porcelain Candlesticks, Germany, C.1890
A decorative matched pair of late 19th-century German porcelain candlesticks attributed to Sitzendorf. Each candlestick is formed as a tall tree-trunk column with applied flowers and foliage, supporting figural groups of a girl holding a goat and a boy holding a dog. The scale gives the pair strong sculptural presence and makes them suitable as focal decorative objects.
One base shows a faint underglaze Sitzendorf mark; both pieces carry the impressed model number “216” with small green factory marks. Large surviving pairs of this height are increasingly uncommon.
