Raphaël Chanterou (1888-1945) - The Pont Alexandre III, Paris - Oil
Oil on canvas signed "Chanterou" lower right, depicting the Pont Alexandre III in Paris, its monumental pylons crowned with gilded Fames (Renommées), reflected in the shifting waters of the Seine. Rendered with a thick, vibrant touch and a luminous, colourful palette, the work is a fine Parisian view of Impressionist inspiration, characteristic of the artist.
