"2 Archaic Bobo Burkina Fasso Fetishes"
Magnificent pair of Bobo fetish, end of the 19th or very beginning of the 20th. The former owner, a collector from Bordeaux, had a beautiful stone base made for it which particularly shows it off. It has been with me for a long time and is a superb object. The wood is very eroded and parts are missing, but the essential is there. One statue has a rather honey patina, light, the other is darker, the sculpture is very raw, expressionist, it gives off a beautiful serene presence, as is often the case with old Bobo works. Height 32.5 and 39.5 cm with the base.
