"Large & Beautiful 19th Century Canvas...mountain Landscape With Young Shepherdess & Her Goats"
Large & beautiful 19th century painting depicting a mountain landscape at the end of the day, with a young shepherdess sitting with her flock of goats... The painting is not signed but its fine execution suggests the presence of an excellent artist: at first glance, one thinks of the painter Diaz de la Pena (1807-1876) because there is something in the touch that comes from the Barbizon school. But this style also existed in Italy, notably among the brothers Giuseppe & Nicola Palizzi who created pastoral scenes quite close to this work. Comparison with the work of each other allows at least to gauge the quality of its author. Canvas size (relining): 55 cm x 43 cm Frame: 67 cm x 56 cm - ask me for other pictures if necessary -
