Oil On Paper By Théodore Fourmois (1814-1871)
Very beautiful work by the Belgian artist Théodore FOURMOIS (1814-1871). It is an Oil on paper mounted on canvas signed lower right and measuring 25 x 38 cm (31.5 x 44.5 cm with its frame). The work also bears on the stretcher at the bottom left the words "painted by Fourmois" and on the canvas the words "View of the clay of Fourmois, gift from the artist to the painter JL Bonet". This is a view of La Gleize, from which the Romanesque church can be seen. The painting has never been cleaned or restored but the paper has numerous tears, visible in the photographs.
