"Beautiful 19th Century Impressionist Canvas - A Lively Village In The Isère Mountains? - H. Baudon"
Beautiful impressionist canvas from the end of the 19th century or the beginning of 1900, which represents a pleasant lively scene in a mountain village which seems to be in the Vercors, in Isère? ... The work is signed lower right "H.Baudon": it is clearly the work of an artist who was influenced by Corot and who certainly knows the first French works of Camille Pissarro ... Note: the quality of this work would merit research to know more about this painter who is perhaps an artist who died prematurely or fell into oblivion (like many at that time): the framer's stamp on the back designates the house "Fénoglio Frêres" active in Grenoble between 1904 & 1930. This could point towards a painter from Isère? - ask me for other photos if necessary - Canvas size: 45 cm x 36 cm Frame (missing): 59 cm x 50 cm - see in my ads, another canvas by this painter representing a scene of nut picking in Isère -
