Solid Gold And Mother-of-pearl Folding Penknife Or Pocket Knife. Early 19th Century, Probably England.

Precious and rare mother-of-pearl and solid 14-karat gold pocket knife.

The handle is made of mother-of-pearl, each plate punctuated with four gold rosettes. The shell-shaped rear bolster and the front bolster are also made of gold.

The back of the spring is also covered in gold, and the interior, "inside," of the handle is engraved with wavelets, a sign of the finest quality.

The blade is also made of solid gold, a beautiful, slightly pinkish gold.

The gold parts are not hallmarked but have been acid-tested for 14k gold.

A magnificent knife, crafted from precious materials. The mother-of-pearl is of the highest quality with a beautiful iridescence.
