The crystal body is pear-shaped with cut corners. It rests on a small foot formed by a silver band.
The neck and stopper are also silver.
The stopper is decorated with two tori of crossed ribbons, and the pierced section is engraved with foliage.
The silver parts are hallmarked:
Minerva 1st standard (pre-1973) for 950/1000 silver
Maker's mark: LC with a crossed cutlery for Louis Coignet, active from 1893 to 1928
Louis Coignet was a very skilled silversmith who masterfully adopted the codes of Art Nouveau and then those of Art Deco a few decades later. He also produced more classical pieces, such as this charming Louis XVI style sugar bowl.
