French Dagger - France, Revolutionary Or First Empire Period
French Dagger - France, Revolutionary or First Empire period (late 18th early 19th century)This seems to me to be a military model but I have not been able to identify it. Perhaps it is then a hunting dagger or intended to be worn in society.Three-sided blade with blue and gold engravings (relatively well preserved) on the first two thirds.Fuse covered with copper filigree. Brass guard with two straight quillons ending in a dog's head. Black leather scabbard with brass chape and rivet. The whole mount has a slight play but the whole remains solid and is in fairly good condition.Length 52.5cmLength without scabbard 52cmBlade length 39.5cmWeight 223grWeight without scabbard 176gr
