Louis XIII-style French Antique Single-door Armoire – 20th-century Handcrafted Piece
A two-section tall sideboard in the Louis XIII style, crafted by a cabinetmaker during the 20th century.
This piece features a beautifully architectured front, consisting of two doors with panels carved with radiating geometric diamond-point motifs, separated by a central drawer adorned with a large diamond-shaped relief.
The uprights are highlighted by molded panels, while the sides feature a diamond-patterned decoration. The piece is crowned by an overhanging cornice with a denticle frieze and rests on four ball-shaped legs.
Meticulously handcrafted, this sideboard stands out for the richness of its geometric decoration, the quality of its moldings, and its slender proportions.
It is part of a set of furniture made by the same cabinetmaker, which also includes a large dining table and a sideboard, offered separately.
